Discover beautiful beaches, charming coastal towns and the relaxed atmosphere of New England’s smallest state.

Rhode Island may be the smallest state in the United States, but it has plenty to offer visitors. With its beautiful coastline, historic towns, sandy beaches and excellent seafood, it is a wonderful destination for a relaxing holiday in New England.

One of the things I particularly like about Rhode Island is how easy it is to combine different experiences. You can spend the morning exploring a historic city, enjoy lunch overlooking the ocean and finish your day with a walk along a beautiful beach.

Whether you are planning a weekend getaway or a longer summer holiday, Rhode Island has something for you.

Discover Providence

Providence, the state capital, is a great place to begin your visit. The city combines historic architecture with a lively cultural scene, interesting museums and excellent restaurants.

Take a walk through the historic streets of College Hill, explore the downtown area or visit one of the city’s many independent cafés.

If your visit coincides with a WaterFire event, you may have the opportunity to experience the city’s famous illuminated river installation.

Explore Newport

Newport is one of Rhode Island’s most popular coastal destinations.

The city is famous for its impressive historic mansions, beautiful harbour and scenic Cliff Walk, which offers wonderful views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Newport is also an excellent place to enjoy fresh seafood and explore charming streets filled with shops and restaurants.

Beaches and Coastal Adventures

Rhode Island’s coastline offers plenty of opportunities for swimming, sailing and relaxing beside the ocean.

Narragansett is particularly popular during summer, while Block Island offers beautiful beaches, dramatic coastal scenery and a peaceful island atmosphere.

When Should You Visit?

Summer is ideal for beach holidays and coastal activities, while autumn brings cooler temperatures and beautiful New England scenery.

Spring and early autumn can be particularly pleasant if you prefer exploring without the busiest summer crowds.

Rhode Island is a destination where you can enjoy the best of coastal New England without having to travel long distances between attractions.
